Dave Schertz, FACHE

OSF Healthcare Northern Region | President & Chief Executive Officer

David Schertz, president and CEO of Rockford’s OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, has taken a new job within OSF HealthCare that will keep him in Rockford but expand his responsibilities. Schertz became the CEO of the OSF HealthCare Northern Region on April 29. It’s a regional job that will include overseeing OSF’s hospital and medical group in Escanaba, Mich. Peoria-based OSF HealthCare is the parent company of Saint Anthony. "I am very appreciative of Dave’s enthusiastic willingness to accept these new responsibilities," said Kevin Schoeplein, CEO of OSF HealthCare, in a news release. "I expect he will achieve the same high level of success as regional CEO for the northern region as he has for OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center." The new job responsibilities include being accountable for clinical and financial outcomes, developing relationships with local leaders within the region, thinking strategically about the business and being responsible for OSF hospital activity and the presidents in the region. Schertz has led OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center since 1995. In that time, the hospital built a new facility near Illinois 173 in Machesney Park and recently collaborated with Mayo Clinic. A new leader will be named for Saint Anthony. A job description for the position is being developed and will be made public soon.
